ISOA have been very quiet on the gigging circuits recently but have been keeping themselves very busy writing and rehearsing new material.
Song writing and arranging can be a fickle business. You always have to ride out the ebbs and cash in on the flows. Luckily, the band have hit a rich vein of inspiration in the past couple of months and are looking forward to rocking out some new tracks very, very soon!
For a taster, check out these new videos from a recent performance at the Bull and Gate in Kentish Town.
Dirtbox - A new one!
Lexapalooza once again went off without a hitch, and around £2500 has been raised for Breast Cancer Research! This is mainly from contributions made on the day. So on top of it being a truly rocking day of quality music, banter and drunken hilarity, it was also a complete success for the charity!
Special thanks should also go to Frank Turner, partly for his inspiring headline set, but mostly for his selfless contribution on the day. The man was there for thirteen straight hours acting as MC to introduce the bands and also as general dogs body and organiser. An absolute legend! ISOA had a blast and cannot wait for next year, which will be even bigger!
In Search Of Apollo’s last two back to back gigs at the Bull & Gate in Kentish Town we probably two of the best that the band have had the honour of playing. Heaps of gratitude and kudos must go out to all those fans who were there showing their energetic support! It's great to see confirmation that people want more from their nightly musical excursions than the general indie onslaught that we’ve been subjected to for so long now.
With your belief and support, good rock music can breathe again and inspire a whole host of new musicians who aren't afraid to do, say and play what they want to, and at the same time won't pander to the wishes of the increasingly desperate record company behemoaths, and play only what they think that you want to hear.
Keep rock alive and remember, your anger is a gift!
Saturday 12 July is the date of this years Summer Happening in Kent. The festival is in it's third year now, and promises to be bigger than ever! And In Search Of Apollo will be headlining it! It's all taking place in the pristine gardens of Court Lodge in Lamberhurst, Kent. (click here for a map.)It's a great excuse to get out into the country side for a Saturday afternoon. There'll be a multitude of musical, holistic and gastronomic treats on offer throughout the day, and all for only a tenner at the gate.
It's typical. You spend some hard earned dosh on a piece of quality kit that you've been eyeing through the glass for a while. You carry it into your room like a new born child and set it down gently apon your guitar cab. You say "Right Mr Mesa Boogie head. You're going to improve my sound and beef things up a bit."
And Mr. Mesa Boogie delivers, like the quality guitar head it is.
You then repay said guitar head by taking it out and setting it up with a strange cab in a strange pub in South London for a gig on the assumption, or rather the ill-informed understandaing that the relationship will work out and they'll hit it off. But, as is often the case with these situations, if you inadvertently force the issue further by pushing your own limits and immersing yourself in your music, blissfully unaware of the complaints behind you from your new best friend, sparks will fly. And unfortunately not the good kind.
Mr Mesa Boogie was unable take any more of the strain and blew up, ending last week's show at the Grosvenor in Stockwell with a mini fire works display that would've made Spinal Tap proud! Though one can only imagine the pain that Baz must have been goin through on seeing his pride and joy in it's death throes.
But the good news is that all should work out upon replacement of fried output valves and blown transformer, and our friend will be fit and ready to Boogie once more! ISOA have a host of gigs lined up this Summer. So get out your diaries and come down for some rock therapy!

This coming Sunday (20 April), the Dublin Castle will be hosting a benefit gig for Camden's fire damaged market. It all kicks off around 5pm and In Search Of Apollo will be lending their support.
Camden is such an important part of London's heritage. So to have something like this fire cause so much damage to the area, creates a huge amount of stress for local business. And don't forget the developers who are still waiting in the aisles to get the lot demolished to throw up another Blue Water!
So get down to Camden and show your support!
The band will also once again be playing the Lexapalooza festival in September, which this year takes place at Nambucca in North London. This has been a successful event year after year and it raises money and awareness for Breast Cancer Research. It always attracts an interesting bunch of artists!
See Gig Listings for full details of both events.
Yes indeed, the EP is finally finished! It's been a long hard slog with many late nights spent mixing, arguing and compromising, but the result is an absolute belter of a rock album!
Hardly clinical in production methods, and favouring a much dirtier, chunky and heavy rock sound, producer Mark Sutherland at Cafe Music has captured a truly monster recording which perfectly captures the passion and energy of the band's live performance.
It is going to be available very, very soon through Paypal, itunes and of course at the band's gigs!
